Connick Studios is established.

April 30, 1913

(April) Founded by Charles Connick, it is located at 9 Harcourt Street. Described as operating “Like a Renaissance guild,” the company furnishes stained glass to more than 5,000 churches, schools, hospitals, and libraries around the world. When Connick dies in 1945, he leaves what he calls “only incidentally a business” to its workers. Orin Skinner runs the studio until it closes in 1986. The Charles Connick Stained Glass Foundation is subsequently formed to celebrate stained glass and the studio’s work in 1986. Its president, Marilyn Justice tells the Boston Globe, “There were lots of studios in Boston. To have great stained glass, you need great architecture. Boston had both.”
